What this is
BeTheReds combines a fan community with a football management simulation. You can follow fixtures, vote in fan polls, publish tactical plans for the next match, design a training week, replay historical matches with your own decisions, and run the club as manager, sporting director, CEO or owner from any season since 2013–14.
Everything is built around one question: what if you were in charge? The answers are hypothetical, and we say so on every result.
Three kinds of information
Every number on the site is labelled with where it comes from:
- Observed: facts from the public record, such as final scores, league positions and who managed the club.
- Estimated: our own estimates, such as player ratings, budgets and opponent strength. They are not official or licensed figures.
- Simulated: outputs of the simulation engine. These are hypothetical scenarios, not forecasts of or claims about real events.
How results are decided
Match, season, training and transfer outcomes are calculated by a rules-based probabilistic engine. AI models never decide results. They only explain and summarise what the engine produced. See Data & methodology for details.
Not affiliated, no betting
BeTheReds is independent and unofficial. The club crest appears only to identify Manchester United. We do not use official club photography or club content; player portraits are freely licensed photos from Wikimedia Commons, credited on the Data page. We have no access to the club, its training ground or its staff.
There is no real-money betting, wagering or cash prize anywhere on the site. Fan League rankings are for bragging rights only.
How it is funded
The site is free and may show advertising once approved. Ads never sit inside simulation controls, and advertising cookies are only used with your consent.
